As part of the Garenne Group philosophy we encourage our Group companies to work with and support the community. Each Group company chooses their own way of doing this which ranges from having a charity of the year, participating in local fundraising events, providing free services or sponsorship.

DEC! Level 3

The Garenne Group were instrumental in bringing DEC! to Jersey In partnership with Skills Jersey and as we enter our fourth year in partnership with Le Rocquier we are proud to be supporting the development of this course by being Industry partner for Level 3 which is being introduced at Highlands.

Jersey Cheshire Home Sensory Room

AFM were delighted to work with the team at Jersey Cheshire Home to create their new Sensory Room. As part of our engagement with the community we have partnered with the Home this year to provide both equipment and expertise for the project.

Granite Le Pelley Go Dragon Boat Racing

On the 18th September, Granite Le Pelley took part of the Dragon Boat Festival in Jersey for the first time. It was an amazing day and we had a lot of fun competing against 29 other teams. The team managed to raise nearly £1,200 for Jersey Hospice Care thanks to our sponsors.

Highlands Partnership

As part of our ongoing Partnership with Highlands we were proud to contribute towards a classroom in the Construction Faculty that is dedicated to learning DEC! and CAD

Sponsoring Alternative Modes of Transport

We are proud to actively support our local community and as part of enhancement of our social values, we are always keen to promote alternative modes of transport to work. RS Quest's new outfit

The Garenne Construction Group continue to support the Guernsey Sailing Trust and as part of our sponsorship, the RS Quest had its first sail in her new Garenne livery over the half term holidays. She is being stored away for the winter but will be out again in Spring next year showing off her new outfit.

Prosperity Day 2021

One of our Executive Directors took to a stationary bike in the name of charity last week. Taking part in the annual Prosperity Day which was raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey and Dementia Jersey , Marc went all out to #ventyourfury over a gruelling ‘virtual’ stage of the Tour de France.

Highlands College

The Garenne Construction Group are proud to have a partnership with the Highlands College Construction Department. We have supported a number of initiatives with the College including the purchase of essential equipment (as photographed) and supported students to participate in the Isle of Man Skills show.

Ipads for St Mary's School

Camerons kindly donated 10 ipads to St Mary's School to ensure that all the students in Year 6 would have a tablet each on their return to school.

Haute Vallee Library

Geomarine took the lead as Project Manager for the refit of a bus which is now a library located at Haute Vallee School

Grow Limited

2017 saw AFM support Grow Limited through their annual chosen charity scheme. A total amount of £2400 was raised throughout the year by carrying out a number of fundraising events including a weight loss challenge, dress down days, cake sales, Christmas raffle. AFM also donated a commercial lawnmower, provided IT support, provided cleaning services and also helped man the Grow stall at public events.

Les Amis

AFM Jersey supported Les Amis in 2017 through dress down days and cake sales which helped the charity to purchase and install a standing hoist at their high dependency unit.

Guernsey Blind Association

The Guernsey Blind Association were very pleased to take delivery of Easter Eggs donated by the AFM team which will be distributed to a number of their service users in the lead up to Easter.

CIGPE Technology Challenge

Garenne sponsored the 2017 CIGPE Technology Challenge which aims to inspire year 9 students from all of the Guernsey schools. Fifty students took part in the challenge which is designed to help develop skills in problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork and communication. All the teams were named after Garenne companies.

Simon Says

Garenne Shopfitting chosen charity is Simon Says Child Bereavement Support. The decision to support the charity was simple for many reasons, the main one being that they do fantastic supportive work in Hampshire with children of all ages by ensuring that every one of them has access to the support they need.

Guernsey Rovers

Geomarine Guernsey were delighted when the team they had sponsored for over 10 years achieved their ultimate goal of winning the Priaulx League trophy. Support from Geomarine allowed a long term plan of development across the minis and youth teams which has now fed the success at the senior level.

St Lawrence School

Camerons hosted the nursery class from St Lawrence Primary School at the Co-op and Premier Inn site. The class had been learning about construction and they had the opportunity to see a live site. They also buried a time capsule which held a collection of their memories under the area that will be paved as part of the town regeneration project.

Dragon Boat Race

Camerons participated in a rather soggy 2017 Dragon Boat Race in aid of Jersey Hospice Care.

Guernsey Sailing Trust

Sailing will be more accessible to Guernsey children after the Guernsey Sailing Trust secured the Garenne Group as their new corporate sponsor.

Macmillan Charity coffee stop and book shop

Camerons continued their ongoing support of Macmillan by working with AFM and Waddington Architects on The Lounge, a charity bookshop and coffee shop in town.

Dolmen

Granite Le Pelley has helped to clean one of Jersey's historic dolmens after it was vandalised last month by offering the use of their DOFF System which is normally used to clean conservation and restoration building projects. The system was perfect to wash graffiti from the site in Mont Ubé as it is a very gentle but effective way of cleaning and requires not chemicals.

Prosperity 24-7 Cycle Challenge

Camerons took the top spot at the Prosperity 24-7 Cycle Challenge that was held to raise money for Durrell and the Teenage Cancer Trust. The event brought together 15 local businesses that went head to head in a three way virtual rate on state of the art turbo bicycle trainers.

Beresford Street Kitchen

Camerons helped with the redesign and works of the café area in Beresford Street Kitchen, a new social enterprise which provides training and employment for people with learning difficulties and autism. The makeover now allows wheelchair access and offers a bigger and more open work space for their employees.

Hockey Tournament

RG Falla were very proud to sponsor the annual hockey tournament again in 2017 with 9 schools battling it out for the RG Falla Outreach Trophy.

Macmillan Jersey Indoor Rowathon

Camerons raised £385 for Macmillan whilst participating in the Annual Indoor Rowathon. A grand total of £44,000 was raised at the event.

AFM Charity of the Year

AFM choose one charity in each Island every year, where they offer practical as well as financial support for 12 months. The chosen charity benefits from all the fundraising efforts of the business as well as getting assistance on any projects that uses AFM's expertise.

Wigwam 2019

Wigwam were pleased to receive a cheque for £2517.25 from AFM as part of their Charity of the Year sponsorship for 2019. In addition to this financial support AFM also supplied Wigwam with some much-needed equipment, which is already helping families and a new Wigwam banner to ensure Wigwam stands out in the crowd at events. Other initiatives included Easter Egg and Advert Calendar collections which were very well receive and donating skilled staff’s time to repair the homes of some of the families supported by the charity.
